Privacy Policy

Lunations is a personal lunar journal. Your journal entries, feelings, and reflections are private and belong to you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What We Collect

We collect the minimum necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address, used to identify your account and restore your data across devices.
• Journal entries — your daily entries (energy, mood, clarity, creativity, reflections, dreams, intentions). Stored securely in our database, accessible only to you.
• Birth profile — name, date of birth, birth time, rising sign, and birth city, if you choose to provide them. Used only to personalize your AI readings.
• Subscription data — payment and billing information is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, never your card details.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not use your journal content for advertising.
• We do not train AI models on your private journal entries.
• We do not share your personal information with third parties except as required to deliver the service (Supabase for database, Stripe for payments, Anthropic for AI readings).
• We do not track you across other websites.

AI Readings

Your daily readings are generated using Anthropic's Claude API. When a reading is generated, we send a prompt that includes:

• Today's astrological sky data (moon phase, planetary positions)
• Your birth data (if provided) — natal sun, moon, rising
• A summary of your recent journal patterns (average energy/mood, recurring qualities)
• Your today's reflection text (if already written)

This data is sent to Anthropic to generate your reading. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing. We do not send your full journal history — only recent patterns and the current day.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in Supabase, a PostgreSQL database provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your journal entries are protected by row-level security — only you can read or write your own data.

We also store data in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB for offline access. This data is local to your device and is not shared.

Your Rights

• Access — you can export all your entries at any time from Settings → Export.
• Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all data from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your entries, profile, and auth record from our systems immediately.
• Portability — your export is in JSON format, readable by any standard tool.
• Correction — you can update or edit any entry or profile information directly in the app.

Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 24 hours. Stripe may retain billing records for their own legal compliance obligations.

Children

Lunations is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continuing to use Lunations after changes constitutes acceptance.
